Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota engages people, provides education, and advocates for biking and walking. Together we envision a Minnesota where every person everywhere can easily walk, bike, and roll as ways to move in daily life. Everyone should have access to active mobility that puts human life and health first. They are a resource for Minnesota-wide bicycle and pedestrian advocacy, education, and events.
Pedestrian Bicycle Advisory Committee (PBAC) provides the Rochester City Council advice on the needs of bicyclists and pedestrians in Rochester. They meet every month on the second Monday with exception of July.
Bicycle Master Plan identifies strategies and actions to better Rochester’s trails and streets for bicycling- whether it be for commuting, recreation, or a quick trip to the store.
Rochester Community Bike Club - Pata de Perro volunteer bicycle mechanics mentor adults and youth to perform their own bike repairs and re-distribute repaired donated bicycles to individuals in need of transportation. The club meets every Thursday evening May-Sept from 5:15pm-7:00pm at the Pata garage located at 115 1/2 N Broadway Ave Suite #117 in the alley behind The Community Castle building.
Rochester Active Sports Club offers group rides every Monday and Wednesday night, leaving from either Bamber Valley Elementary or Bicycle Sports at 6pm SHARP! You can also check out their bulletin board for up to the minute news and events.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MNDOT) has information about trail routes, possible detours, bicycle infrastructure plans, and upcoming events in the state.
The League of American Bicyclists has been advocating for the rights and progression of biking in the United States since 1880. Their mission is to lead the movement to create a Bicycle Friendly America for everyone with a commitment to listen and learn, define standards and share best practices to engage diverse communities and build a powerful, unified voice for change.
